Epitaph builds safety tools that are affordable and simple, by a safety engineer who has done the work, from the plant floor to self-driving technology. We start with Artifact, our inspection platform, and we're building the rest of the stack around the same principle.

I've spent my career as a safety engineer, and I've done the work at both ends of the spectrum: OSHA 1910 and 1926 compliance on the plant floor and in the field, machine guarding and lockout/tagout, industrial hygiene surveys for asbestos and silica and noise. Then functional safety for warehouse robotics and autonomous mobile robots. Now safety engineering for self-driving technology, where a risk assessment and documentation has to hold up against ISO or ANSI standards.
The thing that stayed constant across all of it: the software never matched the work. Every EHS professional I meet is fighting the same fight. They know exactly which tool would fix their program, and they can't get buy-in for a six-figure platform with a twelve-week implementation. So they go back to spreadsheets and a clipboard, and the record suffers for it.
That's why Epitaph exists. EHS support tools should be affordable and simple. Not a stripped-down free tier that pushes you toward a sales call, and not an enterprise suite priced for a Fortune 500 line item. Real tools, built by someone who has had to use them, priced so the person responsible for the program can actually say yes.
